Most are free, but some require a small fee to bask in the beauty they have to offer and preserve the land, just another small token of your LOVE for nature this Valentine’s Day!

Kirstenbosch Gardens
A crowd favourite! And for good reason. Renowned for its diverse flora and luscious lawns, Kirstenbosch gardens is the perfect spot to enjoy a Valentine’s Day picnic with friends or family. For an even more magical experience, just follow the signs to Disa Kloof - A picturesque gorge with a small stream running through and shaded by trees. The perfect sanctuary to chat, drink, snack and celebrate LOVE.

Signal Hill
A historical landmark and today one of the most magical sunset spots in Cape Town. Boasting panoramic views of the Atlantic Seaboard as the sun golden's the horizon, this is the perfect spot for a romantic or friendly picnic this Valentines Day! For a more family-oriented picnic, arrive with your picnic basket just before 12pm to catch the firing of the famous noon canon!

Like a good bottle of wine, the Company Gardens only gets better with age! Being the oldest garden in South Africa, this public park and botanical garden holds immense history within its green pastures. The perfect picnic spot for a more interactive day out! Be sure to walk around through the Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Fishpond and Aviary. Located in the heart of Cape Town, this is an immensely scenic destination for an afternoon picnic with friends, family or a partner.

Silvermine Nature reserve
For those who share a LOVE of nature and an active lifestyle! Silvermine Nature Reserve offers an oasis of adventure with many hiking trails and picnic spots scattered throughout the reserve. Simply grab your picnic basket and explore the reserve until you find the perfect spot for your mid-hike snack! For those who prefer a more relaxed walk through the reserve, there is a boardwalk and casual paths that lead you around the reserve.
